Using content provided by Erin Mitchell, Owner of Made For You Retreats, my primary focus was on the look, feel, and interactivity of the retreat website, ensuring that it was visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional. After meeting with Erin, it was decided that, given the audience base, the fonts should be read at a larger scale, all content should be on one page (with exception of document links), and the color palette should be earthy & natural to match the peaceful nature of the Arizona deserts.
I created the layout, structure, and visual elements of the website using tools like Squarespace, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and pen to paper. Ensuring that the website was responsive, I shifted my focus on creating an intuitive and engaging user experience for Erin’s audience.

Once the website was created, I conducted tests to identify and fix any issues related to design, layout, or functionality, and optimized the website for performance, speed, and accessibility. The project wrapped up with an educational walkthrough lesson of both the website & the Squarespace platform, as Erin wanted to be able to make ongoing edits whenever she desired.
The process
Original content was provided by Erin via Canva (on left). After exploring the material that I was given, I began piecing together the written content and blocking out the one-page site in sections (on right).
