As the editorial designer for Baltimore Magazine, I conceptualized, created, and designed portions of the front and back of the book: covering areas such as food, travel, politics, beauty, lifestyle, & special advertising sections.
With a focus on formatting, typography, hierarchy, illustration, & photography, I helped create many stories while working alongside editors, photographers, illustrators, interviewers, etc.
After researching, analyzing, and choosing which artist to work with for the specific pieces, I would assign the photography & illustration to the particular artist, and place images & style copy to spec (or as otherwise directed by the Art Director).
Additional tasks include the ushering of the designed projects through production & pre-press; this included drafting visual concepts & image choices, formatting lay-outs, and proofing each individual page within the magazine issue.
Lifting the Veil, illustration by Kathrin Honesta (Indonesia).
Into Thin Air, photography by Justin Tsucalas (Baltimore).

Wild & Mild Editorial
type: Editorial design
Client: Baltimore magazine
Applications: Illustrator, Indesign, photoshop, photography, hand-drawn illustration
Given free range to create this editorial, I designed a travel feature story for Baltimore magazine. I researched the magazine, its audience & used their style guide to develop my own layout solution. Provided with copy & select photos, I turned my focus to typography, illustration (both in Adobe illustrator and hand-drawn), layout & photography.
